I am thinking of recharging these Ni-MH batteries using Solar Power but I’m concerned about the Voltage and the Amperage the batteries can handle/take in from the Solar Panels without harm or damage of any kind…
My Solar Panels will output a max of 18V and 2.6A
I don’t want them to explode
I was just hoping for some friendly advice on stuff such as max. Amp intake etc…
Thank you if you answer

Okay… Not quite the answer I was looking for but informative nonetheless
Though I was thinking of hooking up six 12V 1300mAh NiMH batteries together in parallel to get a total of 12V, 7800mAh and 93.6W…
I was hoping that I could simply power my bedroom which only contains a PC and a few lights with these batteries charged by two 18V 120mA 2W Solar Panels…
Would that be possible and would there be enough juice in the battery to charge my PC a few times a day ???

I live in an apartment with western window exposure . The building is old with thick walls and holds temp ;ie on 100+ degree days it rarely gets above 82 degrees inside. However, my electric bill is far too high partly to inefficient installation of the air handler . Its in a small closet with a vented door but does not have adequate air circulation and very poor insulation and weeds grow inside the Heat pump unit outside - just not efficient. I would like to explore the options of a solar powered ceiling fan . I could not put large panels on ther roof although that would give maximum efficiency. Instead I would have to use the space outside my window ledges about 12 1/2 linear feet and have the collectors be unobstrusive in appearance . I would like to collect enough power for 1 and maybe a port for my computer occasionally .I would need to be able to install the system myself ( I’m clever ) with a friend and be able to take it with with me when I move. In your replies please remember that I’m exploring this option to SAVE money and show other folks that solar is a very real , everyday option for the average person. Is this a doable idea?

Ok I have a generator and I wanted to use it as a backup for my solar powered shed.so my plans are to put the generator in a cupboard in the shed and for the exhaust I was going to attach a pipe to the exhaust pipe but I have made a copper reducer myself as I can not get the right size any were. it is gas tight so it should work but the only problem is connecting the reducer to the existing exhaust on the generator so as I cant weld it I though of melting a metal onto the seal but the only problem I have is I cant use solder as the exhaust pipe will reach temperatures of 400c so I need a metal that can be melted via blowlamp and has a melting point of 600c so I will have a gas tight seal
