Pomfret School testing for wind power; 131-foot tower will collect data for 12 months

Pomfret, Conn. — For years, students and faculty at The Pomfret School have insisted their hilltop campus is windy year-round.
Now they could get some data to back up their claims. A 40-meter, or 131-foot, tall pole was installed last week on the campus’ back quad to measure wind conditions for the next year.
