The article on proposed wind power turbines in the Pueblo Mountain area has left me enraged (”Chase for wind turns to public lands,” May 24).
As an avid outdoorsman and adventurer, I have sought solitude and self-reliance in Oregon’s outback. There is nowhere else in the United States that you can drive for eight hours through rugged secondary roads, rough gravel roads and escape with little or no services available.
The Oregonian’s Terry Richards writes every year of the remoteness of this . . .
